Hello!
I am going to describe how my walk-in shower with glass doors became a roll in shower.

The builder removed the doors, step over transition, shower floor, drain, and damaged tiles.
To drop the shower floor, the drain and floor support were lowered below the floor. Having an unfinished basement made this easier.
The shower floor was retiled. Then, flat trim tile was added to frame the shower space.
Missing wall tiles were replaced. The bottom row of wall tiles were also replaced to fit the lower shower floor.
Next came the grab bars. Horizontal bars were added to the three shower walls. They are at a height where I can stand up straight with my elbows locked. A vertical grab bar was added just outside the shower on the same wall as the water controls.
The shower was now ready for my custom touches. I will describe those in my next blog.
